She is a Consultant Neurologist specialized in Clinical Neuroimmunology and Multiple Sclerosis, and an Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine of Al Faisal University. She served as a member of the Research Ethics Committee for three years, and as the Program Director of the Neurology Residency Training Program at KFSHRC-R for around 5 years. Dr. Alkhawajah received her Medical Degree fromKing Saud University, Riyadh. She then pursued her residency training in Neurology at KFSHRC-R. After obtaining her Saudi Board in Neurology, she completed her Fellowship in Neuroimmunology at the University of British Columbia, in Vancouver, Canada. Dr. Alkhawajah is currently conducting several research projects in the field of MS and Neuroimmu nology. Moreover, she has established the first Multiple Sclerosis support group in the Kingdom; the first meeting took place in June 2014. She is the organizer of the first (2015), second (2017), and third (2019) “Walk for MS” in Saudi Arabia, and is actively involved in educating the public about MS. She made several public appearances in National and International TV, talking about MS and advocating for patients who have the disease. Dr. Al-Kaylani currently works as a Consultant Neurologist/ Epileptologist and Neurophysiologist at Rashid Hospital in Dubai, UAE. He completed his Neurology Residency training at University of Iowa Hospitals andClinics, followed by a two years fellowshiptraining inepilepsyandclinical neurophysiolo gy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the USA. This was followed by a one-year fellowship in sleep medicine also at Vanderbilt. After completing fellowship training, he was appointed as an Assistant Professor in in the Neurology Department at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in the state of Tennessee, where his practice was mainly focused epilepsy and clinical neuro physiology in addition to sleep. in 2008 he left Vanderbilt to Michigan where he also served as a faculty member in Michigan state university till 2014, when he moved with his family to the UAE . He joined Rashid Hospital, and became in Lead of the Epilepsy Division. He is American Board certified in Neurology, Epilepsy, Clinical Neurophysiology and Sleep medicine. Mr. Atieh has started working in Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City/Mayo Clinic as a Clinical Research Coordinator Clinical Trails Unit – Research Department by October 2021 where he is working on Clinical trials in both Neurology and GI, along with being the Primary Author in multiple research studies in Neurology, Hema tology/Oncology, and GI. ABOUTOUR EXPERT SPEAKERS Prof. Nils Erik Gilhus has been a Professor of Neurology at the University of Bergen, Norway since 1987 and a Consultant Neurologist at Haukeland University Hospital since 1986. He chairs the Department of Clinical Medicine, University of Bergen. Gilhus has published more than 300 scientific papers, mainly on neuroimmunology and neuroepidemiology, centered on myasthenia gravis and epilepsy. He has supervised 20 accomplished PhDs and been a partner in 6 EU research projects, coordinating three of them. He was an EFNS Board Member and Leader of the EFNS Scientific and Congress Committees and is now a fellow of EAN.
