Dr. Ali Hassan is a Consultant Neurologist and Chief of the Neurology Division at STMC and Tawam Hospitals in Al Ain, UAE. He completed his MD in neurology from Al Azhar University, with specialized training in epilepsy and EEG from Case Western Reserve University, USA. He led the development of accredited stroke centers and founded key neurology conferences in the region. With over 40 publications, he is active in international research and guideline development. Dr. Hassan also trains neurologists in botox therapy and has received awards for teaching and quality leadership.

Dr. Abdullah Al Salti graduated from Sultan Qaboos University in 2002. 
He obtained membership of royal college of physician MRCP UK in 2006 and completed his neurology residency program at McGill University from 2008-2013. 
He has obtained his FRCPC in neurology in 2013 and has completed Fellowship in Neuromuscular and EMG at McGill university in 2014. 
Dr. Al Salti is a member of the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiology (CSCN in EMG) since 2014 and at present he is working as a senior consultant neurologist neuromuscular & EMG specialist. 
He is also a member of the scientific education committee internal medicine program Oman Medical Specialty Board (OMSB) and head of neurology department at Neuroscience Center at Khoula Hospital Muscat.

Dr. Ahmed Osman Shatila obtained his BSc in Biological Sciences from Wayne State University in the United States and continued his medical education at the Wayne State University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in neurology at Wayne State University, followed by a fellowship in neurophysiology. His clinical interests focus on inpatient neurology, including but not limited to stroke, IV TPA program development, status epilepticus, and multiple sclerosis. With over 10 years of experience, he is also actively involved in public awareness initiatives for various neurological diseases and has a strong interest in supporting healthcare facilities in developing a Neuro-Hospitalist model, allowing inpatient neurological care to evolve independently from outpatient services.

Dr. Abdulwahab Roman is a Consultant Neurologist, Clinical Neurophysiologist, and Head of Adult Epileptology at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City (SSMC) in Abu Dhabi. 

He completed his neurology residency in Germany, followed by two fellowships, one in epilepsy and another in presurgical epilepsy evaluation. Prior to relocating to the UAE in June 2021, Dr. Roman served for several years as Head of the Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and Deputy Head at the Vogtareuth Epilepsy Center in Bavaria. He is a certified EEG expert and examiner, accredited by both the German Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and the German Society for Epileptology.

Beyond epilepsy, Dr. Roman received advanced clinical training at two leading multiple sclerosis centers, a comprehensive pain center, and one of Germany’s largest stroke units. He previously held the position of Head of the Multiple Sclerosis Department and Clinical Lead of the CSF Laboratory at the International Medical Center of the Schön Clinic Group in Bavaria. He holds subspecialty qualifications and certifications in cerebrospinal fluid diagnostics (CSF Specialist Qualification) and neurological ultrasound (DEGUM).

Dr. Roman is an active member of nine international neuroscience societies.

Dr. Aysha Alshareef is a Professor of Neurology at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and a Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine Consultant at King Abdulaziz University Hospital and Dr. Soliman Fakeeh Hospital. She specializes in neuromuscular disorders and electrodiagnostic medicine, with a strong focus on clinical care, education, and academic leadership. Dr. Alshareef also serves as the Academic Officer of the Saudi Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine (SANEM) Chapter of the Saudi Society of Neurology, contributing to the advancement of neuromuscular education and professional development in Saudi Arabia.

Dr. Terruzzi is currently the Head of Neurology Department at Mediclinic City Hospital, and Clinical Lead and Head of Mediclinic Comprehensive Stroke Center at City Hospital, in Dubai (UAE).
Dr. Terruzzi graduated from, and underwent Specialist training in Neurology, at the University of Medicine and Surgery of MilanoBicocca in Italy, where he also obtained a 2nd level Master Degree in Cerebrovascular Diseases.
He was working at the Neuroscience Department of Manzoni Hospital as a Stroke Neurologist, where he was the former Director of the Headache Center, before moving to Dubai in 2017 as Consultant Neurologist.
He is also a well trained Neuro-sonologist, expert in ultrasound doppler investigation of the carotid and vertebral arteries and transcranial eco-colour doppler.
Since 2019 he collaborates with the Mohamed Bin Rashid University as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor. Dr. Terruzzi’s primary interests are the diagnosis and treatment of headaches and cerebrovascular disorders.

Dr. Ahmad Almutlaq is a consultant neuroimmunologist at the National Neuroscience 
Institute at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Almutlaq completed his
residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada in June 2021. Then he pursued a 2-year
fellowship at University of Pennsylvania Health System in Philadelphia, USA in June 2023.
Dr. Almutlaq has been involved as a sub-investigator in a few large international clinical 
trials. Also, he is currently involved in various local clinical studies to better understand the 
prevalence and impact of MS on Saudi population.

Dr. Peltier is professor of neurology and medicine at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.  Dr. Peltier obtained her medical degree from the Ohio State University and completed her residency, fellowship training in Neurology at the University of Michigan. She is board certified in neuromuscular medicine and autonomic medicine.  Dr. Peltier has focused her research efforts on identifying improved biomarkers for therapeutic clinical trials in neuromuscular and autonomic disorders.   She is the division chief of neuromuscular division and director of the ALS and MDA multidisciplinary centers. She is President of the American Autonomic Society.

Dr. Habib is a board certified neurologist and neuromuscular disorders expert with several years of experience with the diagnosis and management of neuromuscular disorders. He graduated from the Aga Khan University Medical College, Karachi, Pakistan and did his Neurology residency (Cornell University) and fellowships in ALS and Neurophysiology (Columbia University) in New York. He has extensive experience with MG clinical trials and the use of novel and emerging therapies in MG. 

Dr. Azza Ismail is a consultant neurologist with an extensive experience in multiple sclerosis (MS) and related disorders. She completed her neurology training and Ph.D. in Translational Neuroscience in Sheffield (UK) where she was appointed as a neurology consultant at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. Dr. Ismail has a particular interest in pregnancy and women’s health in MS and has won multiple prestigious national awards for her achievements in the field. She established the first consultant-led MS-pregnancy clinic in the North of England in May 2021. In addition to her clinical roles, she was the Neurology Training Programme Director for neurology Foundation and Internal Medicine Trainees. Dr. Ismail’s areas of research interest are neuro-inflammation, therapeutic clinical trials, autologous haematopoietic stem cell transplantation and women’s health in MS. She is a Principal Investigator in several clinical trials and has published in peer-reviewed journals and presented her work in national and international meetings.

Dr. Ali Almarzooqi is a senior neurology resident at Dubai Academic and Health Cooperation, looking forward to specializing in dementia management and cognitive testing protocols. He earned his MBBS from the United Arab Emirates University and an MSc in Translational Neuroscience from Imperial College London, where he explored the correlation between white matter hyperintensity and vascular risk factors. Dr. Almarzooqi analyzed neuroimaging data from the UK Biobank and has published several peer-reviewed articles. He successfully passed the final Neurology Saudi board exam in November 2025 and actively participates in volunteer work and professional service.

Dr. Ahmed Daabis graduated in 2006 from Alexandria University Faculty of Medicine and started his residency in Neurology in 2008 at Damanhour Medical Institute in Egypt. He then joined the higher committee of medical specialties for the Egyptian Board. He finished five years of training at Alexandria University Hospital and then worked as Neurology Specialist at Cairo University Hospital and As-Salam International Hospital in Egypt. He was also a Neurology Senior Registrar at King Fahad Armed Forces Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Dr. Ahmed is a highly skilled physician responsible for providing inpatient and outpatient neurological care by examining, diagnosing, and treating nervous system disorders. He is an expert in performing Neurological examinations of the head and neck nerves, muscle strength and movements, balance, ambulation, reflex sensation, memory, speech, language, and other cognitive abilities. Dr. Bassem Yammout is currently Professor of Neurology at the American University of Beirut Medical Center and director of the Neurology Institute at Harley Street Medical Center in Abu Dhabi. He graduated from medical school at AUB in 1984, received his training in neurology at the University of Cincinnati-Ohio in the USA, and followed by a fellowship at the Montreal Neurological Institute-McGill University in Canada. He received his American Board in Neurology and joined the faculty at the American University of Beirut in 1988. He is currently head of clinical research at the Multiple Sclerosis Center, president of MENACTRIMS (Middle East North Africa Committee for Treatment and Research in Multiple Sclerosis), member of the MSIF (Multiple Sclerosis International Federation) Scientific Advisory Board, and fellow of the American Academy of Neurology.
Dr. Yammout is one of the leading experts on multiple sclerosis in the Middle East with recent research on epidemiology of the disease in the region, quality of life of patients in the Middle East. In addition, he is currently the principal investigator on several ongoing international multiple sclerosis research trials. Dr. Yammout has authored many research and review papers and is currently Chief Editor of the MS newsletter “MS today”, and on the editorial board of “Multiple Sclerosis and Related Disorders”, “Journal of Multiple Sclerosis” and “Pediatric Neurology”.

Dr. Deeb Kayed is an American Board Certified Neurologist & Clinical Neurophysiologist. He relocated to Dubai in 2005 where he has been working in private practice. 

He is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor at the MBRU School of Medicine. His practice is currently located at Chughtai Clinic & The MediClinic City Hospital in Dubai Health Care City.

Dr Kayed's primary interest is in the management of patients with headache, in particular migraine.

Dr. Dalal Alyouhah is a Kuwaiti board-certified neurologist with specialized expertise in neuromuscular disorders and clinical neurophysiology. She completed a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine and electromyography at the University of Western Ontario in Canada and holds certification as an electromyographer from the Canadian Society of Clinical Neurophysiologists. She currently practices as a neuromuscular neurologist and serves as Head of the Neurology Department and Neurophysiology Unit at Ibn Sina Hospital in Kuwait, where she leads advanced neurological services and diagnostic programs.

Dr. Heba Selim is a Senior Consultant Neurologist at Fujairah Hospital, UAE, and a Professor of Neurology at Zagazig University, Egypt. She also serves as an Adjunct Clinical Professor at RAK College of Medical Sciences.

Holding an MD/PhD in Neurology, Dr. Selim has extensive expertise in stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and neuroimmunological disorders. Prof. Henrik Zetterberg is a Professor of Neurochemistry in the UW Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, School of Medicine and Public Health, Madison, Wisconsin, the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, and University College London, UK. He is also a Clinical Chemist at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. He is Head of the Department of Psychiatry and Neurochemistry at the University of Gothenburg, and leads the UK DRI Fluid Biomarker Laboratory at UCL. His main research focus and clinical interest are fluid biomarkers for brain diseases, neurodegenerative diseases in particular. He has published more than 2700 scientific articles and received many awards.

Dr. Khulood Aljarman is a Saudi Board–certified Adult Neurologist based in Dubai. She earned her MBBS from DMC and completed her internship with the DHA, followed by Saudi Board certification in Neurology in November 2021. Her clinical interests include headache disorders, Dementia, and rare neurological diseases. Her latest publications was on rare cases in World Congress of Neurology and in the British Medical Journal as case reports.

Dr. Lawren VandeVrede is a cognitive and behavioral neurologist whose overarching goal is to advance the care of patients with cognitive and behavioral disorders. He completed his medical training at the University of Illinois at Chicago, along with a PhD focused on developing novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. He completed his internship at Massachusetts General Hospital and his neurology residency at Harvard. Dr. VandeVrede pursued fellowship training in behavioral neurology at the Memory and Aging Center at UCSF, where he joined the faculty in 2020 as a physician-scientist and clinical trialist. His clinical and research interests include the development of novel diagnostic tests, treatments, and clinical trials for tau-based neurodegenerative diseases.

Dr. Mustafa Shakra is a Consultant Neurologist based at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Specializing in inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the central nervous system, he oversees the Multiple Sclerosis clinics at SKMC. 

Dr. Shakra obtained his medical degree from Damascus University in 1992 and completed comprehensive training in general internal medicine and neurology subspecialty at major university hospitals. His extensive qualifications include an MD, MSc, MRCP, and FRCP in medicine and neurology. Furthermore, he has contributed to numerous articles as an author and co-author within the field of neurology.

Dr. Muaz Elsayed is an Adjunct Professor of Neurology and Head of the Neurology Department at Al Qassimi Hospital, Emirates Health Services (EHS), Sharjah. He graduated from the University of Khartoum, where he obtained his MD degree, and completed four years of specialized training in Neurology at the National Center for Neurological Sciences. He further advanced his expertise by earning an MSc in Clinical Neurology from Queen Square, London, UK.

Dr. Elsayed has authored and co-authored 32 international and local publications in the fields of Neurology and Epilepsy and has supervised multiple postgraduate theses in neurology. Dr. Mona Thakre is a well experienced Neurologist with more than 20 years of experience to her credit in UAE and India. She had her basic MBBS and MD in medicine from Nagpur University, India and DM and DNB in Neurology from Bombay Hospital, Mumbai University, India. She has completed her Speciality Certificate in Neurology from Royal college of Physicians (UK) and is a Fellow of American Academy of Neurology(FAAN).

She has worked in Government hospital Rashid hospital as Senior Specialist for 10years and since last 7 years as Consultant and  Head of Neuroscience department at Al Zahra Hospital which is a tertiary care hospital in Dubai. She is the elected Board member of Emirates Neurology Society. Her areas of interest: Multiple Sclerosis ,Headache Stroke, Epilepsy and Movement disorders. She is an active researcher and has numerous presentations in local and international conferences. She has published numerous papers in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Manzoor Ahmed is an experienced Diagnostic Neuro-radiologist with more than 20 years of experience in Radiology. Dr. Ahmed got his medical degree from Khyber Medical College, Pakistan in 1995. Pursued training in Diagnostic Radiology in NEOMED Program, Ohio, USA in 1999-2003. Trained in World-renowned Cleveland Clinic, Ohio, USA in Diagnostic Neuroradiology in 2003-2004. Have been affiliated with Cleveland Clinic for most of his career including Cleveland Clinic in UAE. Chair of the Radiology Department in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE (since 2019) as well as Chair of the SEHA radiology council (since 2021).

SEHA is one of the biggest healthcare networks in the region. It is served as Residency Program Director in Sheikh Khalifa Medical City, Abu Dhabi, UAE from 2019 till 2021. The active involvement in regional Academic activities. Dr. Mohammad Asif Dogar graduated from King Edward Medical University Lahore. He completed his radiology residency training and neuroradiology fellowship at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City Iowa, USA. He worked as consultant neuroradiologist at St. Cloud Hospital Minnesota, King Faisal Hospital and Research Center Riyadh and Visiting Consultant neuroradiologist at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Currently he is working as Section Chief Neuroradiology at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi since 2015. Dr. Dogar has presented at many national and international meetings of Radiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry and ENT. He has received award from President of Pakistan. He also received the award of the best resident teacher of the year at University of Iowa Hospitals and clinics and recently received the best faculty teacher of the year award at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi.

Dr. Mohammed Alhatou has a special interest in headache, neuro-immunology and neuromuscular diseases. He chaired the Department of Neurology at the Regional Medical Center of Orangeburg and Calhoun Counties from 2002 to 2015 and recently joined Hamad Medical Corporation where he is a Senior Consultant, Director of Neuromuscular Division at HMC and Head of Neurology at Alkhor Hospital.

Dr. Alhatou is American Board-Certified in Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology, Electromyography, Neuromuscular Disorders, Neuroimaging and Sleep Medicine. He completed his Residency in Neurology at the University of Virginia and his Fellowship in Neuromuscular Disease and Electromyography at Emory University.

He is a primary investigator in multiple drug studies in neuropathy, dementia, stroke and epilepsy. He is the Chair of Qatar Board of Neurology and Qatar representative to Arab Board of Neurology.    

Dr. Najwa Al-Bustani is a Consultant Neurologist with a special interest in neuromuscular medicine and serves as Neurology Residency Program Director at the Neurological Institute, Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. She also holds an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine, Case Western Reserve University. 

Dr. Al-Bustani earned her medical degree from Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, Oman, and completed her neurology residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Naji Riachi is a Consultant Neurologist and Medical Director of the Neuroscience Center at Burjeel Medical City and Professor of Neurology at Khalifa University College of Medicine.

He received his M.D. degree from the American University of Beirut. Dr. Priti George is a Doctor of Science in Physical Therapy, USA, specializing in Orthopedic Physical Therapy. She is a Board-Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, a Certified Orthopedic Manipulative Therapist, and a Credentialed McKenzie Therapist. Her clinical and research interests focus on the assessment and management of cervical spine dysfunctions, cervicogenic headaches, low back pain, and temporomandibular disorders. Dr. Reem Alsuwaidi, is a Neurologist and MS Specialist at Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health.

Dr. Shivam Mittal is an internationally recognized, American board-certified neurologist and Head of the Movement Disorders Section at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi. He is an Executive Committee member of MDS-AOS and has been awarded the titles of International Professor of Eminence and Doctor of Science (Honoris Causa) by Datta Meghe University, India.

He trained in neurology at Case Western Reserve University, completed a Movement Disorders fellowship at the Mayo Clinic, and advanced post-doctoral training in botulinum toxin therapy at Yale University.

He completed training at Oxford School of Anaesthesia with the award of Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Anaesthesia from the Royal College of Anaesthesia, London, in August 2014. This training programme is competency-based and covers basic, intermediate, and higher and advanced training in Anaesthesia, Pain Management, and Intensive Care Medicine. In addition, he has received advanced training in Pain Medicine with an additional post-CCT fellowship, mastering advanced Neuromodulation techniques like Spinal Cord Stimulator and Cancer Pain Management. He is also trained in medicolegal report writing for all aspects of chronic pain management.
Special interests include the comprehensive management of spinal pain and complex back, neck, and joint conditions, encompassing sciatica, SI joint disorders, and neuropathic nerve pain. Expertise extends to cancer-related pain, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, urogenital and pelvic pain, and persistent post-surgical pain, with a strong focus on accurate diagnosis of complex pain syndromes. This approach is complemented by integrated psychological support, recognizing the critical interaction between emotional wellbeing and chronic pain outcomes.

Dr. Alsaadi is a Chief Medical officer and the Chair of the Neurology Department at the American Center of Psychiatry & Neurology (ACPN). He also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Neurology at Khalifa University. He was trained in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the University of California San Francisco and was a research fellow in Epilepsy there. He is board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology and the American Board of Neurology in Clinical Epilepsy.  

Before joining ACPN, Dr. Alsaadi was the Chief of the Neurology Department at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City for 11 years. He previously held a position as an Associate Professor of Neurology and the Director of the Adult Epilepsy Program and the Clinical Research Program at the University of California Davis. His research has focused on conducting drug study trials for new antiepileptic drugs for patients with epilepsy, quality of life in patients with epileptic and non-epileptic disorders, migraine headaches, multiple sclerosis, and neuropsychiatric comorbidities. Dr. Alsaadi has been honored with several prestigious awards for his work in the field of epilepsy. He has served on the Advisory Board of the Northern California Epilepsy Foundation and the membership committee of the American Epilepsy Society. He has previously served as the President of the Western Clinical Neurophysiology Society in the United States and as the Vice President of CEMA (Commission of the Eastern Mediterranean Affairs). He is currently the President of the Emirati League against epilepsy and the Chair of the ILAE Commission for epilepsy in the elderly. He serves as a member of the Guideline Development Group (GDG) for the WHO. He also serves on the Editorial Board for BMC Journal of Neurology and Journal of Neurosciences. He has authored and co-authored more than 85 papers and book chapters and has served as a peer-reviewer for more than 15 scientific journals. 

Dr. Usman Moghal, MD, is a staff neurologist at Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi within the Neurological Institute and is U.S.-trained in neurology. He previously served as Neurology Division Lead at Southlake Regional Health Centre in Ontario, Canada. His clinical practice focuses on headache disorders, stroke, and cognitive health. In parallel with his clinical work, Dr. Moghal has a longstanding personal background in strength training and endurance exercise, and his current interests explore the emerging role of muscle health, physical fitness, and metabolic resilience in supporting brain health and the prevention of neurological disease.

Prof. Vivek Mehta is a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Neuromodulation and Director of Pain Research at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London. With a clinical practice and more than 30 years’ experience in Pain Medicine he is one of the pioneers in neuromodulation (spinal cord stimulation, multifidus stimulation and occipital stimulation) having set up the Barts Neuromodulation Unit.

Dr. Vivek Mundada is a UK-trained Consultant Paediatric Neurologist based in Dubai and a regional leader in neuromuscular gene therapy. He has treated a large cohort of children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) using advanced gene-based therapies. He is actively involved in clinical research, guideline development, and international teaching, with multiple peer-reviewed publications and invited lectures focused on neuromuscular disorders and gene therapy.

Dr. Waqar Gaba is a graduate from King Edward Medical College, Lahore with more than 20 years of experience and Board Certified from UK in Acute Medicine, Internal Medicine and Stroke Medicine. He has Stroke Fellowship from London. He is a Fellow of Royal College of Physicians Edinburgh and a Fellow of American College of Physicians. He is a former clinical lecturer for King’s College, London and Honorary Senior Lecturer for University of Leeds. He is Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor for UAE and Khalifa University. He has simulation expertise from Harvard Medical School. 
He worked as Stroke Consultant in UK where he received clinical excellence award before joining in SKMC, Abu Dhabi. He is Stroke Lead and Program Director for Internal Medicine Residency at SKMC. He is RCPE Regional Advisor for UAE and Chair of Examiners for MRCP at Abu Dhabi.
