Dr. Abubaker Al Madani

Dr. Abu Baker Al Madani completed his undergraduate certificate in 1997 from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. In Gothernburg University, he was involved in teaching and contributed in research study with Dr. Anders Hamberger in neuroprotective agents in acute stroke. Then, he completed his Canadian Royal College in Neurology (FRCPC) in 2009.

Dr. Madani had his residency at the University of Toronto which is ranked number 1 in Canada by Royal College of Canada, and ranked number 4 in the whole North America by American Academy of Neurology. He was personally involved in regional stroke program and he was involved in at least 500 stroke cases and 80 TPA cases. In his residency he also did one whole elective year which involves EEG, research, pathology and nerve conduction studies. By finishing the residency, he was able to manage neurological cases as general neurological cases as general neurologist in 2007. He has his fellowship in neuromuscular subspecialty from 2007 to 2009.

Prof. Alan M. Rapoport, M.D. is a Clinical Professor of Neurology at The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Los Angeles, California and is a Past-President of the International Headache Society, as well as the founder and Director-Emeritus of The New England Center for Headache, in Stamford, Connecticut. He has a private practice in Headache and General Neurology in Santa Monica, CA at the California Medical Clinic for Headache. Board-certified in Neurology and Headache Medicine, he has co-authored more then 300 articles, chapters and posters on headache and other neurological conditions as well as 9 books for physicians and patients on headache. He has lectured around the country and internationally to general physicians, neurologists and headache specialists on all aspects of headache pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment and has appeared many times on national radio and television programs, such as Today, Good Morning America, CBS This Morning and 20/20.

He is an editor of Headache, CNS Drugs and Editor in Chief of Neurology Reviews, and he reviews for many peer-reviewed journals such as Cephalalgia, Neurology, New England Journal of Medicine and Headache.

Dr. Rapoport has served on the Board of Directors of the American Headache Society (AHS) and is the immediate past President of the Fairfield County Neurological Society, the Founding President of the Headache Cooperative of New England (HCNE), the founding Director of the Headache Cooperative of the Pacific (HCOP) and until recently was the Chairman of the Education and Membership Committee of the International Headache Society (IHS). He was elected to the position of President President of the International Headache Society in April 2013 and is now a Past- President. He is the co-founder of an IT non-profit company named ProMyHealth which offers on line consultations to headache patients and produces a written consultation for them to take to their physician.He is CEO of BonTriage which is an IT Health Care company that takes on line expert histories for headache and also helps screen potential patients for clinical trials.

Dr. Rapoport has testified many times in court for both defense and plaintiff and often reviews medical records and consults with attorneys and their staff. His expertise is in headache but he has been involved in personal injury and several patent cases, often related to neurological programs, headache and pain.

Dr. Rapoport has been an expert in 3 large patent infringement cases.

Dr. Alessandro Terruzzi is currently the Head of Neurology Department at Mediclinic City Hospital, and Clinical Lead and Head of Mediclinic Comprehensive Stroke Center at City Hospital, in Dubai (UAE).

Dr. Terruzzi graduated from, and underwent Specialist training in Neurology, at the University of Medicine and Surgery of MilanoBicocca in Italy, where he also obtained a 2nd level Master Degree in Cerebrovascular Diseases.

He was working at the Neuroscience Department of Manzoni Hospital as a Stroke Neurologist, where he was the former Director of the Headache Center, before moving to Dubai in 2017 as Consultant Neurologist.

He is also a well trained Neuro-sonologist, expert in ultrasound doppler investigation of the carotid and vertebral arteries and transcranial eco-colour doppler.

Since 2019 he collaborates with the Mohamed Bin Rashid University as Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor. Dr. Terruzzi’s primary interests are the diagnosis and treatment of headaches and cerebrovascular disorders.

Prof. Christian Lampl is currently Head of the Department of Neurology at the Konventhospital Barmherzige Brüder Linz, Director of the Headache Medical Center Linz and Chair of the Center of Integrative Medicine for Elderly at the Ordensklinikum Linz. Prof. Lampl received his doctorate at the University of Innsbruck in 1990.
Between 1998 and 2005 he was a senior physician at the neurological and psychiatric department of the general hospital in Linz.
Prof. Lampl is current president of the EHF. Prof. Lampl is a fellow of five professional societies.
Prof. Lampl’s research is focused on: epidemiology and burden of headache, migraine aura as a possible risk factor for migraine headache; neuropathic pain and dementia with focus on elderly people.
He has published numerous articles on headache and neuropathic pain. In addition, he has contributed to several book chapters.
Prof. Lampl is also an Ad Hoc reviewer for journals such as Cephalalgia, JHP, Headache, Clin J Pain, J Neurol and Eur J Neurology.

Dr. Deeb Kayed is an American Board Certified Neurologist (1997) and Clinical Neurophysiologist (1999) with a particular interest in headaches.

Dr. Kayed graduated magna cum laude from the University of Evansville with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1986. He then graduated from St George's University School of Medicine in 1990.

He completed his residency training in Adult Neurology at Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia, PA, USA in 1996 where he also served as Chief Resident. He next completed a Fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia in 1997 followed by a Fellowship in Advanced Clinical Neurology - Child Neurology at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia in 1998.

Dr Kayed relocated to The UAE in 2000 and served as a Consultant Neurologist at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain where he was also Head of the Division of Neurology. Dr.Kayed relocated to Dubai in 2005 where he has been working in private practice. He is an Assistant Professor at the MBRU School of Medicine. His practice is currently located at The Integrated Rheumatology & Arthritis Centre in Dubai Health Care City. Dr. Markus Weber is Professor of Neurology at the University of Basel and serves as chief of the Neuromuscular Diseases Unit/ ALS Clinic at the Kantonsspital St.Gallen in Switzerland. He received his medical degree from the University of Bonn in Germany and Diploma in Clinical Neurology from the University of London, Queen Square. Following completion of his residency at various academic hospitals in Germany and clinical fellowship in neuromuscular disorders at University of British Columbia in Vancouver , Canada (1997-2000) he founded the Neuromuscular Diseases Center/ALS Clinic in St.Gallen Switzerland. His main research interests cover outcome measures, clinical neurophysiology, trial designs and cannabinoid research. His work was crucial in developing a motor unit estimation technique called MUNIX as a biomarker for ALS trials.

Dr. Weber has participated in several EU-funded projects and has received numerous grants from national funding bodies and various foundations. He has published well over 100 peer-review publications and book chapters. He has also served on many scientific advisory boards for various biotech companies. Dr. Weber is a member of the ENCALS executive committee and co-chair of the European Academy of Neurology scientific panel on ALS and FTD.

Prof. Messoud Ashina is Professor of Neurology in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, University of Copenhagen, Denmark. Professor Ashina received his Doctor of Medicine Degree at the Azerbaijan Medical University. He completed his residency in neurology at the University of Copenhagen. Dr. Ashina received his PhD and DMSc degrees at the University of Copenhagen.

He is Director of the Human Migraine Research Unit at the Danish Headache Center and Department of Neurology, Rigshospitalet Glostrup.

Professor Ashina has been actively involved in headache research since 1995. His research interests include experimental migraine and cluster headache models, neuroimaging, novel antimigraine drug targets, mechanism of migraine and action of antimigraine medications. He has authored over 400 papers, abstracts and book chapters on the topic of headache, including migraine and cluster headache.

Messoud Ashina serves as associate editor of Cephalalgia, associate editor of Headache and associate editor of The Journal of Headache and Pain. Professor Ashina is Past-President of the International Headache Society.

Dr. Hussain is a Consultant Neurologist with seventeen years of experience. After completing his medical degree from the prestigious Aga Khan University, he underwent extensive postgraduate training in the US.
